hArtists is Different

We're a community of artists who consider erotica to be a form of art. It all started on October 15, 2003 as a tiny community that kept expanding as time passed. We do things a bit differently over here, and you'll soon see why the way hArtists is organized is better.

We encourage originality.

Because we're a community for erotica on an artistic level, we strongly discourage all types of fan art. Instead, we encourage and challenge you to break the "mold" of hentai. There are so many communities out there that contain sickeningly high amounts of fan art, and we felt ours shouldn't be another one. As an artist, you'll find it much easier to get creative when you're not surrounded by others whose mindset is so limited that they can only draw what they've seen elsewhere.

We're small and welcoming.

Because we don't have thousands of artists submitting like maniacs, your art has a much greater chance to get noticed by others. Our small size also means that we don't have an "elite" crew of bullies who have nothing better to do than make it hard newbies to participate.

We've got quality standards, but aren't anal about them.

The only time we judge your art is when you join. Afterwards, you're free to submit whatever you consider finished. Submitting sketches, and the like is also allowed. At hArtists, nobody is going to decide whether that new submission you just uploaded gets showcased or not.

High quality standards will also be a motivation for you to improve your drawing style. Face it, would you really push yourself to improve how you draw when you're surrounded by amateurs?

We give you more freedom than you'll find elsewhere.

We're not going to show you the door here just because you don't draw "mainstream" erotica. Provided you label content appropriately before submitting it, we'll let you submit it.

Of course, freedom always comes at a small price: what you're submitting has to be legal and can't violate our Terms of Service.

We're not a huge, profit-hungry corporation.

Our goal isn't trying to profit from your art; that's why everything we provide you with is free of charge. There are no monthly fees to pay, no banner ads, and no "subscriber only" features at hArtists. What you're looking at is operated and financed by Zabadab, and through donations by members just like you.
