You can request read receipts for private messages by clicking on "Request read receipt" in the "Advanced Settings" menu when composing a private message. You'll only receive one if the recipient agrees to send you one though.

What Software Runs Behind the Scenes?

We use Gentoo Linux exclusively as the operating system we run our servers with. A customized version of the "nginx" web server is used to deliver content. The website software was written in a variety of languages; depending on what fit the needs.
