How do I Sign Up for an Account?

You can sign up for an account by clicking on the "Sign in / Join" tab and picking your account type from the "Sign Up for an Account" section. After you've picked your account type and clicked on "Continue", you'll be sent to the second step, where you pick your username, set a password for your account, enter your E-Mail address, and submit two sample submissions if you decided to sign up for an artist account. Once you submitted your registration, you will receive an E-Mail that contains a link you need to click on in order to activate your account.

We have two account types at hArtists: "Artist" and "Art Appreciator." The former account type is for artists who want to have a gallery on this site, while the latter is for those just here to enjoy the art or wanting to join the community. The only difference between the two accounttypes is that an art appreciator does not have a gallery and cannot access a forum sections that are restricted to artists.

Note that artists do not immediately gain access to their gallery upon confirming their account. Our moderators manually approve or deny each artist application in order to make sure that minimum quality standards are met and that the art is the artist's own work. Until an artist account is approved, it shows up as an art appreciator account to others.
